About Willamette Vein Centre'

Located in Salem, Oregon,  Willamette Vein Centre' was incorporated in 1990 by Dr. Thomas Sims, a family practitioner, and Dr. Ben Wilson, a general surgeon. Since then it has been in the forefront of State-of-the-Art technology and cutting edge procedures for treatment of all aspects of venous disease. The Centre was the first in the Northwest to routinely use ultrasound for diagnosis and treatment of venous disease. Initially directed by Dr. Sims and now by Dr. Wilson, Willamette Vein Centre' is a full service, comprehensive vein treatment facility where practice is limited to vein care.

Dr. Wilson was born and raised in the Southwest, receiving his undergraduate education from New Mexico State University (in electrical engineering!), his graduate education from Arizona State University (MS Biomedical Engineering), his premed education from UNLV, and his medical education at USC. Between 1979 and 1985 he received his surgery training at Oregon Health Science University. He was a practicing general surgeon until limiting his professional activities to phlebology in 2004.

In 1998 Drs. Sims and Wilson held the first Comprehensive Sclerotherapy and Diagnostic Phlebology Skills Development Workshop. Since then STS has trained over 100 phlebologists, most of whom now have thriving practices of phlebology to their credit.
